Technology

At SJ Dental, Dr. Jing and Dr. Steve are invested in continuing education and constant advancement. They invest in new technology when they know it will enhance the level of care they provide and help improve your experience. Please take a moment to see what we offer!

Digital X-Rays and Sensors

Digital x-ray technology uses up to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film x-rays while producing instant, high-quality images. We use these sensors for detecting cavities, evaluating bone levels, and monitoring existing dental work. The images appear immediately on our chairside monitors, allowing our dentists to show you exactly what they're seeing and explain treatment recommendations clearly.

Panoramic X-Rays

This type of x-ray captures the entire mouth—all your teeth, jaws, sinuses, and TMJs in a single, comprehensive image. We use panoramic x-rays for treatment planning dental implants, evaluating wisdom teeth, and diagnosing complex dental issues. The process is quick and easy. You simply stand and face the machine as the arm rotates around your head. Because the x-rays are extraoral (outside the mouth), they're also ideal for children, people with a sensitive gag reflex, or those with mobility issues.

CBCT Cone Beam Technology

This advanced 3-D imaging system creates detailed, three-dimensional views of your teeth, jawbone, nerves, and sinuses. We rely on CBCT scans for precise dental implant placement, evaluating complex root canal anatomy, planning wisdom tooth extraction, and diagnosing TMJ disorders. The comprehensive imaging allows Dr. Jing and Dr. Steve to plan treatments with exceptional accuracy, reducing complications and improving outcomes.

Intraoral Cameras

This pen-sized camera captures detailed images inside your mouth, displaying them on a chairside monitor so you can visualize what our dentists see. We use it during exams to document cavities, cracks, worn fillings, and gum problems. You'll gain a better understanding of your needs and the recommended treatments when you can see the issues we're discussing.

Laser Dentistry

Our soft tissue laser enables precise gum surgery and effectively treats gum disease, resulting in minimal bleeding, faster healing, and often eliminating the need for sutures. We use laser technology for gum recontouring, treating periodontal pockets, and removing overgrown tissue. You'll experience less post-operative discomfort and quicker recovery times compared to traditional surgical techniques.

Digital Impressions

Our digital impression system captures precise 3-D images of your teeth without the mess and discomfort of traditional putty molds. This technology assists our dentists in designing crowns, bridges, clear aligners, and other restorations. You'll appreciate the faster, more comfortable process that eliminates gagging and provides more accurate results for better-fitting restorations.

Digital Records

Our digital record-keeping system stores your dental history, treatment plans, x-rays, and clinical notes securely in one accessible location. This streamlined approach means faster check-ins, easier insurance processing, and the ability to share information quickly with specialists if needed. You'll never worry about lost paperwork or duplicating forms, and we can pull up your complete history instantly during any visit.

TVs in Treatment Rooms

Each treatment room features a television so you can watch your favorite shows or catch up on news during your appointment. This simple comfort amenity helps anxious patients relax and makes longer procedures feel shorter. Whether you're here for a routine cleaning or a more involved treatment, you can stay entertained and comfortable throughout your visit.
